BLUEBERRIES!
Our blueberries start coming in in early August running through to early September. All are welcome to come up and pick for yourselves, or see us at local Farmers Markets during the growing season. We also sell direct to you, to local markets and restaurants. Keep your eye on our Facebook pages for information on when the berries are ready! |
We sell lambs live, as well as packaged and processed cuts (USDA inspected)
There are 3 options for buying lamb from Smokeshire Hilltop Farm: 1.) Purchase cuts from existing inventory. (We have two freezers on the farm with a selection of lamb cuts). Call for an appointment to take a look or send us an email and let us know what you’re looking for. Prices are $11 to $19 per pound depending on the lamb cut. 2.) Purchase a whole lamb for your freezer. A whole Lamb processed according to USDA regulations is priced per pound of the “hanging” weight of the lamb. Hanging weight or carcass weight is the weight of the animal after it has been dressed, i.e., after the initial slaughtering and processing. Each lamb is then custom cut to your specifications. Changes in weight occur when the bone is removed. The final weight of that you receive will be lower than the hanging weight of the lamb. You pick yourd box of processed lamb up at the farm. Contact us mid August for more information. The lambs are usually scheduled to go to the butcher in September. 3.) You may buy a live lamb from us and take them away! Usually, as soon as June (lambs are born in April) or early July. Come see us at Local Farmers Markest where we bring coolers full of our most popular cuts!
